Letter to Myself from a Place of Compassion

Dear Bernice you are beautiful inside and out. You are beauty and brains. You are perfectly Loved. You are kindhearted. You are brave. You do hard things easily. You have a fortified spirit. Your love is so pure.

I’m sorry when I’m unkind to you. I’m sorry when I blame you. I’m sorry when I criticize you harshly. I’m sorry for thinking that the way God made you was a curse. I’m sorry when I doubt your capabilities. You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. You are an OVERCOMER!!

I’m sorry when I let doubt steal your assurance in Father. I’m sorry that I’ve failed you in the past. I’m sorry that I put you in harm’s way. I’m sorry when I didn’t trust you to protect me. I’m sorry when I don’t speak up for you and only cause you to retreat even more. I’m sorry for thinking you’re broken. You are whole in Jesus. You are healed and just walking out this healing now.

I’m sorry I let fear rule you for so long. I’m sorry I made fear decisions and not faith decisions. I’m sorry for giving away your body carelessly and unprotected. Forgive me sweet Bernice. I’m sorry. I will keep pressing on to heal all your wounds.

There is no wound too deep for your Savior to heal. There is no heart too broken to be mended. I hurt you deeply with my choices and I’m sorry. I was the adult responsible for taking care of your sensitive heart. I let others hurt your heart and I’m sorry.

You are so precious in the Sight of God. He doesn’t see your mistakes or your past. He sees you as fully forgiven. You are deeply loved by Father. I’m sorry for not honoring your body. I’m sorry for giving your pearls to swine. I’m sorry for not protecting your heart in the past.

I’m sorry for believing lies. I’m sorry I tried so hard to fit in this world that was never meant for you. I’m sorry I abandoned you. I’m sorry I suppressed you. I’m sorry I rejected you. I’m sorry I left you in the shadows.

I am committed to healing your beautiful heart my sweet sweet Bernice. You are enough. You are not too much. You are not a bother and you deserve to be heard and take up space in the world. You are not an afterthought. You are chosen by God. You are His. He has you in His Hands and He guides you.

I’m sorry when I haven’t believed Him on your behalf. I’m sorry for not trusting you and dismissing you when you’re giving me signals. When you’re crying out to me to protect you. You never felt protected, and I fed you to wolves.

I love you Bernice and you are so deserving of love. Yes, you’re deserving of Love. You are deserving of Love. Yes, we are deserving of love. He found you so worthy to come and die for. He will never hurt your sensitive heart. He always speaks kindly, and gently.

He knows how tender He made Your Heart and now you get the revelation of Him as Healer. Don’t ever lose hope for total freedom from all your wounds. He is Hope and Healing itself. If He can raise the dead, then He can heal even the most broken of hearts.

He specializes in using broken things to show His Healing and Restorative Power. There is no more need for you to tense up. Attacks shall no longer affect you. I will wear daily my full armor of God to protect you sweet precious Bernice. It is time to come out of the shadows of fear and let your Light shine. It is time.

I will hold your hand each step of the way and will be quick to say I’m sorry when I cause you harm. I am not perfect, but I promise you I’ll keep trying and resting in the Power of the Holy Spirit to see us through. Trust in Jesus Bernice. He loves you SOOO much and it is only Him who has brought you out of the pit I dug to put you in. I’m so incredibly sorry.

He turns graves into gardens. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Trust Him fully dear sweet Bernice. He is trustworthy. He will never hurt you or disappoint you. He will always stand up for you. He fights your battles for you. He has already won it all for you.

That wasn’t Him who rebuked you so sternly. He will never do that in your greatest time of need. You simply distorted His Voice because being criticized is what you’ve been used to hearing your whole life. He loves you with such a tender Love. His commands are wrapped in compassion. Get to know Your Savior for who He really is dearest child of God.

He knows all of you and still loves you so deeply. You don’t have to be perfect for Him to love you. You don’t need to perform for Him to accept you. You don’t need to do and do and do to make Him proud. He is already proud of you. He’s so proud that you never gave up fighting to be heard.

I’m listening now. I’m sorry for all those times I hated you and wished you were different. I’m sorry for rejecting you my dear Bernice. I love you and you are so wanted. Please give me a chance to reparent you with everything you longed for when you were a little girl. I’m still learning so be patient with me as I navigate this new us.

Walking in freedom is so foreign and it will feel uncomfortable at first but soon enough this will be your normal state of being. This brings the floodgates of peace and joy. Who the Son has set free is free indeed. He is a Man of His Word so He always keeps it.

You don’t have to strive for what is freely given. Rest in the assurance that I won’t give up because Jesus has given me His beautiful Power. We have His beautiful Spirit. The voice of fear is loud, but His Voice is gentle and tender and so incredibly loving.

Let go of any pain and hurt you’re still holding onto my beautiful Bernice. Let it go into the Hands of our Loving Savior. You will never be alone again. He promises He will never ever leave or abandon you. He is always a very present help when we call out to Him.

He literally comes running to our rescue. He sings over you that you are so incredibly wanted. He says He is crazy about you. He says no matter what you do, He doesn’t see your mistakes. He says it is ok to make mistakes because you are human. Only He is without mistake.

You don’t have to fear making mistakes anymore sweet child of God. God is an understanding God. He never scolds you for your mistakes. He never scolds you for not being perfect. It is in your imperfections that He shines even brighter.

Believe that dear beloved Bernice. I have experienced Him and He hasn’t failed me yet and never will because His Love is steadfast and unfailing. I assure you that you can finally let go and rest. He will NEVER call you lazy. You’ve fought so hard. I got it from here.

You can do this. You have a brave heart. Trust in Jesus. Free fall into His Arms of Grace. Take the time you need to do this and I’ll wait for you. His Love is Patient. You are strong. You are capable. You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

You’re not weird. You’re chosen by the Maker of Heaven Himself. Father loves you so much and so do I.💝
